Disney has one area that reminds me of that golden era when
families went to the shore. Growing up in Western Pennsylvania, going to the
shore meant a summer of games, seashell hunting, and candy. My brother and I
always looked forward to the salt water taffy. Nothing said summer better that
a large white box with a multitude of colors inside. Disney 's Board walk resort
brings me right back to the long hot days of summer
The Boardwalk Resort is a turn of the century resort,
modeled after Atlantic City and Coney Island in the 1920’s/1930’s. Disney's
Board Walk is on Crescent Lake with Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Swan and
Dolphin Hotels.
Disney Board Walk is a made from pressure treated wood to
with stand the years of use. The Board Walk is 35 feet wide and 3500 feet long
and contains over 300,000 screws. In the 1920’s the Board Walk in Atlantic City
contained 30,000 wooden wheel chairs to assist those who visited the coast.
Disney’s Board Walk has Surrey bikes to represent the Golden age of Atlantic
City.

Being a Disney Vacation Club Member, my family loves to
visit Disney’s Board Walk. You automatically transport from being in Central Florida to North East . One of our
favorite things to do is have Dinner there but my kids enjoy the sweeter side of the Board Walk the ice cream or the crepes . During
our last visit we went to the Yachtsman Steakhouse with some friends. We had a
wonderful time and the food was amazing. The restaurant is a New England steak
house the food couldn’t get any better. The service is 5 star and we talk about the
experience all the time. Then you can walk your great dinner off by heading over to Epcot and watch Illumination Fireworks show. This is a what we enjoy in Disney Vacationing, very tranquil and relaxing.
